On Friday October 7th 2011 the two Belgian passive house organisations, Passiefhuis Platform and Plate-forme Maison Passive, are organising the tenth Passive House Symposium. Over the years this unique initiative has developed into a leading event in the world of passive and very energy efficient building. This scientific conference addresses all professionals from the construction world: architects, engineers and bureaus, besides policy makers and public organizations. This symposium offers a platform to about thirty speakers from all over Europe, to share their knowledge on innovative technologies, their research and their experience. Hence the symposium is an excellent opportunity to stay informed about the latest developments in the field of energy efficient buildings.
Like the past years our program includes a varied range of lectures. This year we have chosen the following topics:
- Zero energy projects
- District development
- Most economic ways to heat and ventilate passive houses
- Passive cooling
- Project evaluation
- Passive house: future-proof
- Renovation towards 100% passive
- Passive schools and office buildings
- Passive apartments and housing
Participants can choose between two parallel sessions. Simultaneous interpretation (French – Dutch – English) ensures accurate understanding of non-English speakers. Hence, the symposium allows building professionals from various sectors to keep their specific knowledge related to energy-conscious and passive houses most effectively up-to-date. Moreover, participants will receive the Symposium-Proceedings, summarizing the contributions made during the symposium.
